Everyone has sinned. People who join a church and accept Jesus as the Son of God and their Messiah have been forgiven of their past sins, but some continue to put themselves first; when the Bible is clear about who is first. “Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, that He may lift you up in due time.”
There are many, many good people who attend church regularly, and “love God with all their heart, mind, spirit and strength.” And there are some who are still in love with themselves. Those people continue to rely on their own defenses to deal with others, rather than accepting others as they are and allowing God to correct a situation.
Even good people slip up and forget themselves at times and don’t act Christian-like. We’re all human, and we’re all growing in our faith. Some have progressed further than others. Yet, our goal is to become Christ-like – full of love, compassion, and forgiveness. Let us encourage one another and become more Christ-like.
If you don’t attend a church now, join us. Join those who have grown in Christ and those who are still growing, and let us grow together. If we were all perfect Jesus would not have had to have been crucified to forgive our sins. Even though it makes our quest easier to surround ourselves with people who believe as we do, our walk with God is personal, and how we react to others depends upon how close our walk with Him is. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man enters unto the Father except by me.”
We all need forgiveness. We all need to exercise our own spirit, and surrender ourselves to the Spirit of God. And we all know the way to get there. It’s Jesus, and He’s been waiting for us since the beginning of time.
