Wouldn’t it be great if we didn’t have a spirit – if we were just mental and physical. We wouldn’t receive what we want for another. If we wish another misfortune, we wouldn’t receive it. Even if we harmed someone, we could skirt the civil authorities somehow. The biggest, baddest, smartest and sneakiest would finally win out over everyone. Of course, without a spirit, the U.S. Constitution would have never been written granting freedom, liberty and protection Without that freedom and protection, we probably wouldn’t have survived to write this blog or to read it. We would have been destroyed long before, probably as children by the strongest in society, just as the Godless evolutionist predict.
But if we didn’t have a spirit, there would be no God and there would be no ever-lasting life to look forward to. We would suffer through a world gone mad, and then die an inglorious death and disappear from history. No, I think a prefer having a soul. I prefer being protected by loving my God and loving my neighbor. I prefer a place called heaven, where there will be no suffering, no grieving and no death. Yes, I definitely prefer having a spirit – a spirit that is linked to God’s spirit, where I can enjoy the blessings of a loving and righteous God. A Godless society is a mindless society without a spirit – a society gone mad. No, Father, don’t take your spirit from me nor cast me and mankind away from you. Restore unto us the joy of your salvation and uphold us with your free spirit. I pray this in the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
