Where Is The Kingdom Of God?

Jesus said to his followers in Luke 17:21 “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

We can be given “The Kingdom of God” in this life, but when we pass from this life we enter into “The Kingdom of Heaven“. He lives in us when we have a physical body. We live in Him through our spiritual body. The Apostle Paul wrote, “To be absent in the body is to be present in Christ.”

The creation as described in Genesis 2:7 , “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being>”

God breathed life into Adam. He breathed his spirit into Adam. Adam was born of the Spirit of God. And Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden walking with God, talking with God, relying on God for their every need and trusting in God to watch over them and protect them in every circumstance. They obeyed the will of God, until they became so proud of the perfect life they were living, that they began to think that they deserved it. They began to question the authority of God, and take authority upon themselves. They said, “God said not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge, but we think that, since everything is so perfect, this little thing of eating of a forbidden tree won’t hurt anything.” The moment that they obeyed their own will and desire, and rejected God’s will, they were separated from God. They no longer loved God unconditionally, and that bond was broken. The opposite of love is fear, and the first thing they did was to fear. Genesis 3:10, “So he (Adam) said, “I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked and I hid myself.”

The Garden of Eden is the place where man relies on God for all his needs, where he trusts God to lead him into all goodness, and, most of all, where he loves God with all his heart, mind, soul and strength. The Kingdom of God, that Jesus spoke of, is our own personal Garden of Eden, where we have a perfect loving relationship with God. It is a relationship based on Love, and activated through repentance. We must repent for our sins against ourselves and others, and we must forgive others for the wrongs done against us. When we forgive, we are forgiven, and the sins of our former lives are completely erased and forgotten. We are a new person without the baggage of our past.

II Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:5 “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

Jesus said that we must be born again, in the spirit. Adam was born in the spirit and lived in the Garden of Eden. He walked with God, he talked with God, he relied on God, he trusted in God. and he loved God unconditionally. We have been born of the world. Only by being born again in the spirit of God can we live in perfect harmony with Him. Jesus called this The Kingdom of God. I believe it is our own personal Garden of Eden until we reach the eternal Garden of God that we call Heaven.
It may be possible to be saved by simply joining a church. But the relationship God wants with us, is the relationship He had with Adam, before Adam disobeyed. In order to enter into that kind of a relationship with God, we must be born again of water and the spirit, love and forgive. Do you want to walk with God, or will you take your chances hanging somewhere in the back of the line? I can tell you one thing: The first time you hear God’s voice, it is an experience you will never forget. And He’s waiting to hear from you now.
