What Church Is Best?

People ask me, “Which church is the best church?” And I tell them, “I think so.” I can find something that I don’t entirely agree with in any church. It doesn’t make them bad, simply because it isn’t 100% me. In fact, since my moods change, what was perfect one day, may not be perfect for me the next day.

Every good church will cherish the Holy Spirit in their lives. They will love God with all their hearts, minds, soul and strength. And they will love their neighbors as they love themselves. And Jesus, the Son of God, will be their Messiah and role model. One church may worship in solemn meditation. Another may rely on ritual to reach God. While another shouts out their love of God in their music, repeating words over and over again, so that they don’t have to concentrate on reading the words, but concentrate on communicating their love to God. Some churches worship in strict etiquette. Others are more vocal, and some show their love in their tears of love and thanksgiving.  “God is spirit, and we must worship Him in truth and in spirit.”

Is there a perfect denomination? Probably not. Perhaps all denominations are perfect, but not every one is perfect for everyone.  Perhaps we need to feel the spirit in every church in order for us to reach the full expression of our love and devotion to God. Perhaps a combination of these churches will allow us reach the fullness of our worship. I know we’ll all come together in Heaven. Then we’ll know That Which Is Perfect, and we will dwell in His presence together and forever.

Wherever you worship here on Earth, make sure you can feel His smile radiate down upon you as you worship Him. Make sure you worship hard enough to feel the tangible presence of God. God is love.  He loves us unconditionally, and desires that kind of love from us.  When you love God and love your neighbor as much as you love yourself, then you’ve found your church and you home is secured.
Blessings, Andy
