Sin And Punishment

I think that we’re all aware that sin reaps punishment and that “sin fully grown is death.” Even when we give ourselves to our loving God, we are still punished for our sins. Even though God is a loving Father, He still disciplines his children – sometimes simply to cause us to grow in faith. If we continue to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and if we love our neighbors as we love ourselves, His love for us will change us, and we will sin less and less in our journey with Him. That doesn’t mean that we will be completely free of sin or that misfortune will no longer visit us. It does mean, however, that we will no longer be condemned by our own actions. Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, has paid the price of our weaknesses and guaranteed a place in heaven for us. So, we must no longer concentrate on what is wrong with our lives, but in how we can help others with what has gone wrong in their lives.
